"Don't just read it like a story, read it like a learner."
Hello guys, I hope you all are doing well in your life and working hard daily for your dreams. If we talk about Today's topic, then that is one of the most demanding ones, i.e., "How does consistency work and how to maintain consistency for a long time?"
Well, firstly, we will try to understand the meaning of the word "consistency". If I will try to explain it in simple words, then it simply means doing something with relative learning on a daily basis. Consistency helps to turn your habit into a part of your identity.
Let's have a look at some examples. We all know about Virat Kohli, he says that his life is very boring. It is a conscious effort to eat sleep train repeat. He says that doing the same thing daily is not a choice while it's a necessity, for achieving mastery in that work. He says that it's not easy to maintain consistency but it's also not that much tough.
Well, we all know that maintaining the same routine for a long time is really boring, but always remember that you can do anything from the day you stop doing everything. If you really want to achieve mastery in any field then first you need to eliminate other options. We need to keep things simple. But again there's a question which comes, that fine we know the importance of consistency but how to maintain it. Let's try to solve this problem. There are 5 points that will surely help you to maintain consistency but remember that things work only when you start implementing.
1) Keep your eye on your why (and if right now you don't know 'the why', then whenever you feel to quit, at that time must ask yourself that why had you started it, whether for achieving it or for leaving it?).
2) One thing at a time (because you are not a superman, start from zero so that you feel motivated and choose only one thing at a time).
3) Don't prioritize your schedule, schedule your priorities - Steven Covey (make your to-do list on a daily basis, it really works and always give first preference to your most urgent and most important work.
4) Sometimes it's good to ignore our feelings (it's true that sometimes, we even don't want to do the work that we love the most. Just accept that it's very obvious and don't need to react to it. Just again start doing your work).
Let's summarize these 5 points:
- Keep your eye on your why.
- One thing at a time.
- Don't prioritize your schedule, schedule your priorities.
- Sometimes it's good to ignore your feelings.
- No issue in falling but learn to get up fast.
In the next post, we will go deeper into this topic. In that post, we will learn about the compound effect. Must read that for more understanding.
Here is the link to that post: What is compound effect and how does it work?
If you have any other ways that help you to be consistent then must mention those ways in the comment section, so that others will also be able to get things done.
And if you want to learn more about consistency, and how can you maintain it, then I highly recommend you to please read this book that is, "Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-free Productivity". If you want to check it, then click on it-> Getting Things Done
